Relationship vs Religion

“BEWARE lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world and not according to Christ.” Colossians 2:8

There are many man-made approaches to life that disregards God. Philosophy is the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence, especially when considered as an academic discipline. We cannot replace relationship with God with philosophy. When we focus so much on a religion we lose sight of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Without Christ what are we following? Without the Word of God what is vital and necessary to this life we live day in and day out. If the Bible is Basic Instructions before leaving earth. Are we taking heed to those basic instructions or are we making our own instructions and doctrines based off of philosophy and religion?

It’s something to think about when we have so many different religions, but God DESIRES RELATIONSHIP! We get away from what is necessary and focus too much on what is not eternal.

I encourage you today to get back to what matters and Christ is the whole reason we have another opportunity. Christ is the reason we are living, moving and having our being today. We were created in the image of God and His likeness therefore we must be imitators of Christ Who is also Father.
