What’s your motive…….

Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: 16 [a]The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; 17 but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. 18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice. Philippians 1:15-18 NKJV

Are you preaching/teaching/witnessing/reaching/ out of love or selfish ambition or gain? Do you sincerely believe the Truth and want to share the Truth with the world? Your heart does matter. Your motives matter. Some people serve for the wrong reasons; their motive are all the way left, but God still loves them.

It’s hard to look pass the motives at times, but what we have to see is the MESSAGE of CHRIST being TAUGHT? Although motives may be off, someone’s life still may be impacted by the MESSAGE. The TRUTH will SET someone FREE. Pray for the MESSENGERS heart, but allow the MESSAGE to change lives.

I encourage you today to not always be so caught up in the messenger that you miss the message. Some people only like to hear certain people and can’t receive from others for whatever reason. If the messenger is teaching truth, you should be able to receive something from what’s being taught.

If your motives are off, check your motives and teach the message out of a place of love. Amen!
