Do Not Provoke..

Good morning I am Advancing Life Speaker!

“And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4 NKJV Parents, as we know parenting is not easy. You talking about your patience being tested from every corner, side and angle; it is. When your desire is to raise your children in a Christ believing home with honor and respect it’s not easy.

Discipline is needed. Discipline says “I love you”. God chastises those He loves right? God disciplines us right? Therefore why do we think that our children do not need correction and discipline? Sometimes it’s easier to function out of frustration and anger because we can get to that point. We must treat our children like Christ’s love is for us all. Discipline and love is vital to children’s development.

We cannot provoke (aggravate, irritate, inflame, hassle, stir, trigger) our children to wrath (anger, rage, fury, madness), but bring them up in the training (teaching, guidance, instruction, coaching) and admonition (caution, warning, reprimand, rebuke, reproach) of the Lord.

“Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.” Colossians 3:21

Children are to be handled with true love and care. The need firm discipline administered in love. Aggravating them to the point that they lose heart and become discouraged is not okay because you may you may not think it’s effecting them now but it will later.

Wow! Instructions for parents today. Yesterday was for the children. Blessings all!
