Husbands & Wives – Part III

For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. For we are members of His body,[a] of His flesh and of His bones…. Ephesians 5:29-30 NKJV

As it was stated on yesterday, what kind of person hates his own body that he or she doesn’t nurture, feed, protect or care for it? If you see a man or woman who neglects himself, what makes you think they will nourish and cherish you? God cares for the church (us). He gives us a whole book that is living instructions to live. We are not just taking care of our temple just to do it, but because we are members of His body; we should be caring for ourselves because kingdom/God dwells inside of us.

We are of His flesh and bones, just as we are of one flesh with our spouse. When we get the understanding that we have been JOINED together as ONE, we will care for one another in a whole different manner. Would you punch you? Would you holler at you? Would you mentally abuse you? Would you sexually abuse you? Would you cheat on you? Would you lie to you? Would you control & manipulate you? If you wouldn’t do it to you, why would you do it to your spouse of who you are one with? My God!

It’s time to love one another to another degree. It takes time, patience and work, but it’s worth it. When we know better we do better. Let’s do better. Amen!
