Taming the Tongue
Good morning I AM CONSISTENT Life Speaker!
From yesterday “Speak it and it shall come back to you!” to today I felt led to James 3:2-3.
2 For we all stumble and sin in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says [never saying the wrong thing], he is a perfect man [fully developed in character, without serious flaws], able to bridle his whole body and rein in his entire nature [taming his human faults and weaknesses]. 3 Now if we put bits into the horses’ mouths to make them obey us, we guide their whole body as well.
No man can tame the tongue without divine grace and assistance. When you think about the analogy of the bit in the horse’s mouth. Using a bit allows the horse to move in the direction the rider wants to go. In a properly trained with the right track and a knowledgeable rider, it ALL WORKS TOGETHER to CREATE UNITY between the riders wishes and the horses performance. The bit applies PRESSURE to the tongue.
Spiritually thinking about this How are you allowing God to tame your tongue? The bible is our bit that allows us to move in the direction God wants us to go. It can control the whole body if we allow the words within it to direct our path. The bible is life. God is a knowledgeable and all-knowing God, therefore when we take instructions from Him, ALL THING WORK TOGETHER FOR OUR GOOD and CREATES lasting RELATIONSHIP, UNION, Communion and Covenant between God and man. Let the pressure be applied to your tongue to speak life.
You can bridle appetite when you desire to lose weight but not restrain your tongue. One of the smallest members of your body that is the most deadly. Let’s aim to be consistent with our words.
Say: God help me today to tame my tongue. Let your grace and assistance help me to speak words of power and life. Let the words of my mouth be acceptable in your sight. Let me not speak idle, destroying words with my mouth. Let me demonstrate your love God and the kingdom will flow out of me.
Command your mouth this morning!
