GUARD your MIND

It’s easy to get distracted when our different gates are vulnerable and open to the tactics of the enemy. We have to be diligent everyday about making sure we guard our gates. Today Guard your mind. How do you guard your mind, or what do you need to guard your mind against? Here a few good ones from Rick Warren.

Guard your mind against false teachings. Although it may sound good and feels good to your flesh, it just may not be the word. Go check it out for yourself. But [in those days] false prophets arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will subtly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Peter 2:1, read vs 2-3 as well.

Guard your mind against temptations. 14 But each one is tempted when he is dragged away, enticed and baited [to commit sin] by his own [worldly] desire (lust, passion). James 1:14

Guard your mind against counterfeit spiritual experiences. I am astonished and extremely irritated that you are so quickly shifting your allegiance and deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different [even contrary] gospel; 7 which is really not another [gospel]; but there are [obviously] [a]some [people masquerading as teachers] who are disturbing and confusing you [with a misleading, counterfeit teaching] and want to distort the gospel of Christ [twisting it into something which it absolutely is not]. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we [originally] preached to you, let him be condemned to destruction! Galatians 1:6-8

Guard your mind against PRIDE and being OVERWORKED.

I encourage you this morning to have a RENEWED mindset DAILY! Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]. Colossians 3:2
