Experience vs Encounter

Let’s stop just searching for more and more experiences and let’s seek an encounter. An experience can relate to a “feeling” “familiarity” that we get when we enter an environment. A lot of times we seek the same environments because they feel good to us and they stroke our ego, condone our behaviors, disregard truth, tolerate mess, and ignore God.

If your experience doesn’t change you, it was just that, an experience. An experience with excite you, which is temporary. An encounter will alter and transform you. Seek an encounter. An encounter is deeper than an experience. When you have an encounter with God, you are meeting Him in your worship. You are meeting Him in your praise, in your prayers, in your closet. Encounters are normally face to face. You are in the face of God not just to experience a feeling but to have a paradigm shift, to have an encounter that will cause you to turn from every wicked way and be sold out for Christ. You are looking at your new from a new perspective. The old things have gone, the former things are no more. The new is springing forth. Change just happened in you because of that encounter you had with God.
