The Lord Commends

However, “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not he who commends and praises himself who is approved [by God], but it is the one whom the Lord commends and praises. 2 Corinthians 10:17-18

Healthy encouragement and self-esteem is great but when we begin to boast and boast in what we think is our own abilities we fall into a dangerous place of PRIDE. It’s natural to want to receive recognition at times for things that you have done well, but when you want it so bad that you become prideful, arrogant, egotistic, and conceited, you have lost sight of where your abilities came from.

Boast in the Lord. The Lord gives you the ability to get wealth. The Lord gives you the ability to flourish in your gifts and talents. The Lord gives you the ability to become all that you are. We cannot take the credit for anything. The day we start taking the credit is the day we begin to fall.

Look at Satan he was called the Shining one, morning star, he had it all, but PRIDE caused him to be removed from duties as cherub; cast from the mountain of God.

Let the Lord commend and praise. You continue to do what is right in the eyes of God and let God worry about the rest. Amen!
