God is not slack!

“The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will vanish with a [mighty and thunderous] roar, and the [material] elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and the works that are on it will be [a]burned up.” 2 Peter 3:9-10

I know we hear the end is near all the time, but we don’t know when it is coming. Only God knows the time and hour that He will return for His children. His word is bond. That means it’s a promise; it WILL come to pass whether you like it, or not; whether you think it’s true or not. God doesn’t desire for anyone to perish and live eternity in hell so He is patient. Patience could run out today, tomorrow or next week, but we must be ready to face the decision that we made or didn’t make to repent and follow Christ.

Christ will return SUDDENLY, but it should not be a surprise to those who believe. He is coming like a thief to those who are asleep and living in darkness (sin). We are not sleeping but we are awakened. If a homeowner knew a thief was coming, they would stay up all night keeping watch to ensure that their house is not broken into. The word says to watch and pray. Christ is returning; repent now and turn from your evil ways. There will be no excuse big enough for your refusal, rejecting Christ.

I encourage you today to reexamine your life and anything that is causing you to slip back into sin, submit back to your old ways of living or thinking it’s time to RELEASE it now before it’s too late. REPENT and know that God is not slack, He is not delaying or being slow, He is patient just for you. REPENT and TURN now before you get caught sleeping and miss Him.
