Itching Ears

For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction [that challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing], they will accumulate for themselves [many] teachers [one after another, chosen] to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold, 4 and will turn their ears away from the truth and will wander off into myths and man-made fictions [and will accept the unacceptable]. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 AMP

Do you only want to hear what soothes your ear? Do you only want to hear what you think is acceptable? Do you like to hear when the scripture has been flipped, turned, fitting to your sin? Do you only focus on what justifies what you do? You having itching ears.

Do you get offended when the word corrects, rebukes, exhorts, teaches, convicts? Then you might have some itching ears? Your ears are tickling for what appeases to your lifestyle.

God’s word has NOT changed. The deliverer of the word may have juiced it, icing it up to make you feel comfortable or better about your life, but His word is still the same. God is love and He created us in love. If a part of His word is not true then we may as toss the whole bible and live like heathens. God’s word will stand even when this world we know has passed and gone, His words will remain TRUE.

In this hour you need to remain WATCHFUL and PRAYING without ceasing. God’s word will prevail. We are here to love and to witness. Don’t allow your itching ears to cause you to have a reprobate mind.
